On October 17, 2018, recreational cannabis was legalized in Canada. Since that time cannabis and hemp has become an important and growing industry in Canada. Provincial governments have controlled the distribution of cannabis; however, Indigenous peoples have argued that on reserve land cannabis should be governed by Indigenous peoples. This event aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of cannabis and Indigenous law.
This event is free and open to the public.
