Snoqualmie Tribe Enters Cannabis Industry and Celebrates Grand Opening of Fireweed Cannabis Company on 4/20

From Living Snoqualmie by Melissa Grant April 18 2024

Fireweed Cannabis Company, a retail cannabis store owned by the Above it All Corporation, a separate business entity of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, today announced the grand opening celebration for the new dispensary on 4/20/24 at 37500 SE North Bend Way, Suite 2B, Snoqualmie, WA 98065. The store is on the east side of the Crescent Market.

The celebration will occur during operating hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a catered lunch, discounts, giveaways, live music, and vendors on-site from various Washington cannabis brands throughout the day.

The Snoqualmie Tribe’s entrance into the cannabis industry comes at an exciting time for the tribal cannabis industry, which has been steadily growing in Washington State since the passage of House Bill 2000 in 2015, allowing the government to enter into agreements with federally recognized Indian tribes in the state for the commercial production, processing, and sale of cannabis.

“We are thrilled about this new venture into the cannabis industry. Our team has been working hard to bring this idea to life so that we can provide economic opportunities for our tribe and serve the greater Snoqualmie community. This grand opening celebration is a great chance to celebrate the work we’ve accomplished and give the community a taste of what’s to come,” said Robbie de los Angeles, Store Manager.

Owned by the Above It All Corporation, a wholly owned and operated separate business entity of the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Fireweed Cannabis soft-launched in March 2024. The dispensary shares a parking lot with the Snoqualmie Tribe-owned convenience store, Crescent Market, next to the Snoqualmie Casino. The new dispensary employs two enrolled Snoqualmie Tribal members and members of other Indigenous communities, including the Hopi Nation and Coeur d’Alene/Schitsu’umsh.

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe is a federally recognized tribe of Coast Salish origin. The tribe’s ancestral lands span from the Snoqualmie Valley into the east King and Snohomish Counties, with the Snoqualmie Falls at the heart of its creation story. The launch of Fireweed Cannabis comes ahead of a massive casino expansion, including a high-end hotel, an additional 11,000 square feet of gaming space, a full-service spa, a fitness center, a 2,000-seat entertainment and convention center, new onsite parking, and two new restaurants.
