FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION — Fort William First Nation has been given the go-head by the Alcohol, Gaming Commission of Ontario to open a cannabis outlet in their community.

But Chief Peter Collins says it’s far from a done deal.

Collins, who spoke briefly to Thunder Bay Television on Monday, said they received notice about five days ago that the community’s application to host a store was successful.

However, Collins said just because they got the approval doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be going ahead and opening a cannabis store. He said he still wants input from community members to decide whether or not it’s something they want to see go forward in Fort William First Nation.
