Illegal pot shops busted at Kettle Point

Anishinabek police are reporting a pair of drug busts at illegal cannabis dispensaries on Kettle Point First Nation.

On Thursday, July 4, officers executed search warrants at Georgia Peach in the 9700 block of Center Road, and Organic Solutions in the 6000 block of Indian Lane.

Officers had help from the Kettle and Stony Point Detachment, and the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team.

Three people were arrested and charged with possessing cannabis for the purposes of selling, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police said the street value of the drugs is about $448,000, and a large amount of currency was also seized.
